Aqsa’s Inspiring journey from despair to Hope
Aqsa’s journey is nothing short of inspirational, defying cultural and societal norms to pursue her passion for justice and equality. Born and raised in a conservative community in Khairabad, Aqsa’s dreams were often stifled by the prevailing norms that limited the aspirations of young women. Breaking free from these constraints, Aqsa excelled academically at CMGHSS Khairabad, where she completed her intermediate education with flying colors. Despite facing skepticism and opposition from those around her-ultimately her engagement was also reversed-she remained steadfast in her commitment to create a different path for herself.
Aqsa’s turning point came when she decided to join the Pakistan Police, a field predominantly occupied by men. Her decision challenged not only gender norms but also the deep-rooted stereotypes surrounding women in law enforcement. Undeterred by the societal taboos and criticism, Aqsa pursued her dream relentlessly.
Aqsa’s success serves as a beacon of hope for young women in Khairabad and beyond. She stands as a living testament to the idea that passion and determination can overcome even the most deeply ingrained societal barriers, inspiring others to challenge norms and follow their dreams.
Inspirational Story of Ambreen
The life of Ambreen is an inspirational chapter for young girls. Her struggling life set an example that with courage, determination and sincere efforts for attainment of goals, one can surely find success. Ambreen has 3 sisters and 2 brothers, while her father is the only bread earner as a daily wager and mother is a housewife. Ambreen matriculated from CMGHS Khairabad, as there was no high school in nearby area, FWA in collaboration with Hoshyar Foundation initiated a program for girl’s education, which is providing a high school facility to overcome the barriers to girl’s education in khairabad, district Mansehra, KP. In addition, she took admission in the higher secondary school Khairabad, supported by Friends Welfare Association in collaboration with Hohyar Foundation, U.S.A. She got married while attending grade-11th, but Ambreen had always been determined to make something of herself, despite the many obstacles she faced. Growing up in a small village, she had always dreamed of joining health sector, but her family’s financial condition made that seem like an impossible goal. Despite this, Ambreen was determined to continue her education. She worked tirelessly, studying every chance she got, and eventually completed intermediate from higher secondary school with top honors. Not one to give up easily, Ambreen decided to pursue a career in healthcare in a different way. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she was wondering over the lack of awareness among local community-specially females. She decided to join the health care facility as a volunteer and provided basic healthcare services to women and children in rural areas. She is enrolled in a diploma course to be a lady health worker and also practicing her field to support herself and her family, and it allowed her to make a real difference in people’s lives. Ambreen worked tirelessly, traveling to remote villages to provide healthcare services to women and children who would otherwise have no access to healthcare. She worked long hours and faced many challenges, but she never lost her passion for helping others. Today, Ambreen is a respected member of her community, known for her dedication to improving the lives of those around her. Her story is an inspiration to many, and a reminder that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
Sadia Bibi: Rising Above Adversity
Sadia Bibi, a 22-year-old resilient woman from Village Garhi Habib-ullah in the district of Mansehra, Pakistan, embodies strength and perseverance. Her journey, marked by profound challenges and personal losses, is a testament to her unwavering spirit and determination to build a better future for herself and her children.
Sadia’s life took a significant turn in 2018 when she got married and moved to Mansehra city. At such a young age, she became a mother of two. Despite her youth, Sadia faced life’s harsh realities head-on. Shortly after her marriage, tragedy struck when her husband was murdered in a violent incident, leaving her a young widow with two children to care for. Her situation was further compounded by the loss of her father-in-law, a brave soldier in the Pakistan Army, who was martyred in a bomb blast.
With only a matriculation education and no immediate means of financial support, Sadia found herself in a precarious position. The weight of her family’s survival rested heavily on her shoulders. However, Sadia’s indomitable spirit refused to succumb to despair.
Her turning point came when she learned about the vocational training center initiated by the Friends Welfare Association Pakistan. Recognizing this as a golden opportunity, Sadia sought the consent of her supportive mother-in-law and enrolled in the dress-making course offered by the center. With a keen interest and a burning desire to succeed, she immersed herself in learning the intricacies of stitching and garment creation.
Sadia’s dedication and hard work paid off. She began stitching clothes at home, transforming her newly acquired skills into a source of income. This newfound ability to earn with dignity not only provided for her family’s needs but also instilled in her a sense of empowerment and self-worth.
Her journey, however, does not end here. Driven by a passion for fashion and a vision for a better future, Sadia aspires to establish her own boutique. She is determined to further enhance her skills by enrolling in courses on fashion designing and embroidery, adding new dimensions to her expertise.
Sadia Bibi’s story is one of remarkable resilience and hope. Ayesha Sultan Determined towards pursuing her Medical Career
Growing up in a modest household, Ayesha was the youngest of five siblings. Currently enrolled at the Akbar Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), pursuing her dream of becoming a medical practitioner. Her father, a humble driver, and her mother, a dedicated housewife, worked tirelessly to provide for the family. Despite the financial challenges, Ayesha’s parents instilled in their children the importance of education and helping others.
From an early age, Ayesha was captivated by the idea of healing. Her elder siblings often teased her, calling her the “little doctor” as she patched up their scrapes and bruises with a tender touch. Her time at CMGHS Bararkot and later at GGHSS Garhi Habibullah shaped her love for science and compassion for others. It was during these years that she realized her true calling: to alleviate suffering and make a difference in people’s lives.
Determined to pursue her dream, Ayesha faced her share of obstacles. The pressure to conform to traditional expectations weighed heavily on her. Many in her community believed that a woman’s role was to marry and raise a family. Yet, Ayesha was undeterred. She often found solace in books, immersing herself in stories of renowned medical practitioners who changed lives. Their journeys inspired her, igniting a fire within her to forge her own path.
Ayesha’s resolve only grew stronger when she enrolled in AIMS. The moment she stepped into the bustling corridors of the institute, she felt a sense of belonging. Surrounded by peers who shared her passion, she thrived in the rigorous environment, eagerly absorbing every lesson. Her course in LHV (Lady Health Visitor) is not only equipping her with practical skills but also deepening her understanding of healthcare’s impact on communities.
She envisioned a future where she could open her own clinic, providing accessible healthcare to those in need. Inspired by her parents’ sacrifices, she vowed to uplift her community and inspire the next generation.
Amina from Despair To Hope And Commitment
Two third girl’s population in Pakistan-of age range 9-16 years-is out of school. These statistic makes Pakistan fifth nation in the world with highest number of out of school girls. Various socio-political issues, differing from one area to another contribute to low girls’ education indicators in Pakistan. Amid challenging barriers, very few girls, especially of remote and hard to reach areas makes their way to university level of Education. Amina’s story is amongst one of inspirational story of courage and hope. Amina is eldest in eight siblings of her family. Since her childhood, it fell to her to look after all her siblings and assist her mother in household chores. Her father is a labor and barely meets the expenses of family. She was born in rural village of District Mansehra, Paras that was devoid of schooling for girls’ education at secondary level. She was fortunate enough to get access to girls’ secondary school established by FWA and Hoshyar Foundation. She passed her secondary education with distinction. She was determined to pursue university level education but her father could not afford to pay the fee for her to continue higher studies.
“I was fortune enough that my parents were not against my university education. My father and mother had always advocated for my education in family and village. The only barrier was financial resources that was hindering my dream to higher studies. In that dismal situation, scholarship program being supported by Friends of Pakistan USA has proved to be real hope in my life. I was informed by my secondary school teacher about the scholarship program that is being offered to those students who have passed secondary level education and intend to continue their university education.
The day when I was nominated by the school management committee (SMC) for scholarship was happiest day of my life. I have taken admission in M.Sc. Mathematic in Hazara University Mansehra. I am staying in hostel of University and scholarship fund helped me in bearing the cost of my admission fee and my hostel expenses.

Zahra’s story of Resilience and Determination
Zahra Rafeeq is a determined and resilient 15-year-old student at CMGHS Bararkot. Despite facing significant challenges due to blindness in one eye, Zahra has shown a remarkable will to continue her education and pursue her dreams. Her father, an ex-army soldier, and her mother, a housewife, have been strong pillars of support for her, instilling values of perseverance and hard work. Her visual impairment has posed challenges, but with the support of her family and teachers, she has developed effective coping strategies. She receives personalized guidance to help her keep up with her peers.
Zahra dreams of becoming a teacher. She believes that education is a powerful tool for change and wants to inspire and empower future generations. Her aspiration is rooted in her positive experiences with her own teachers, who have been a source of encouragement and motivation. Zahra is particularly passionate about making education accessible to children with disabilities, ensuring that no one is left behind due to physical limitations.
Apart from her academic pursuits, Zahra has a strong interest in playing cricket. She finds joy and a sense of freedom in the sport, and it serves as a perfect outlet for her energy and enthusiasm. Cricket has taught her teamwork, strategic thinking, and resilience, qualities that are reflected in her approach to life and studies. Despite her visual impairment, Zahra participates actively in school’s extra-curricular activities.
Living with blindness in one eye, Zahra has faced numerous challenges, including societal biases and accessibility issues. However, her indomitable spirit and the unwavering support from her family and school have helped her overcome these hurdles. Zahra Rafeeq’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of following one’s dreams. Her journey is not only a personal triumph but also an inspiration to others, showing that with dedication and passion, any challenge can be transformed into a stepping stone to success.
