Friends Welfare Association (FWA)
Friends Welfare Association (FWA) Pakistan is a recognized non-governmental humanitarian organization in Pakistan, devoted to empowering marginalized communities through sustainable and inclusive development initiatives. FWA is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 in 2006 and holds Category "A" status with the Charity Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. FWA adheres to national policies outlined by the Economic Affairs Division, possessing a valid MOU with GOP and certified NPO from PCP and the FBR under the Income Tax Ordinance of 2(36)-2001. Furthermore, FWA is also fully accredited by the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) Pakistan. FWA has undergone a remarkable transformation from a small organization to a prestigious national entity, highly regarded by both the government and local communities for the quality and value-for-money of its interventions.
What We Do
Since its establishment in 2006, FWA has partnered with international agencies, corporate entities, and UN organizations to drive impactful interventions across key sectors. Our work spans Education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Disaster-resilient Infrastructure, Healthcare, Socioeconomic Development, Climate Change Adaptation, Gender Equality, Community Mobilization, and Emergency Relief and Rahabilitaion. FWA has earned recognition for its rapid and reliable response to major crises, including the 2005 earthquake, the 2009 Swat crisis, the 2010 floods, the COVID-19 emergency, and the 2022 floods. At the core of our mission is a commitment to advancing education, empowering girls, and tackling societal challenges such as gender-based violence, early marriages, and child labor. Through our holistic programs, we work to create lasting, positive change for vulnerable communities across Pakistan, striving to uplift lives and foster resilience for a brighter future.
