COVID-19 Support to Health Department & Hospitals
During the COVID-19 pandemic, FWA partnered with various organizations to provide essential health equipment and personal protective gear to medical staff in hospitals and quarantine centers across Hazara Division. This initiative helped mitigate the strain on Pakistan’s healthcare system during the crisis. Beneficiaries: 30,000 healthcare workers and patients.
Supporting Education During COVID-19
FWA assisted the Education Department in resuming schooling during the pandemic by providing disinfection materials and safety equipment for the reopening of 1,800 schools across four districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This effort ensured the safe continuation of education while adhering to government health protocols. Beneficiaries: Students and staff across 1,800 schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Maternal and Child Health Initiative
In collaboration with The Maria Helena Foundation, FWA launched a program to reduce neonatal and maternal mortality by addressing the shortage of female healthcare providers in rural areas. Scholarships were awarded to young women to pursue training programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Lady Health Visitor (LHV), and Community Midwifery (CMW). This initiative empowered women while improving healthcare access for mothers and children in underserved communities. Beneficiaries: 10 women receiving healthcare scholarships, benefiting rural communities.

In response to devastating floods in Sindh and Balochistan, FWA provided nutritional supplements to infants to combat malnutrition and prevent related health complications during food shortages. This initiative supported the well-being of infants, ensuring their healthy development during a critical time. Beneficiaries: 10,000+ infants and young children.

Flood Emergency Nutrition Support – Indus Kohistan
In response to the devastating floods in Indus Kohistan, KPK, FWA provided food relief to families in need, addressing immediate nutritional shortages caused by the disaster. The distribution of essential food packages helped 320 individuals (40 families) meet their basic food requirements during the crisis. Beneficiaries: 320 individuals (40 families) from the flood-affected communities.
